WHO TOOK THE ONE RING
The Fellowship Betrayed
A Middle-earth murder mystery in four acts
One Ring has vanished. One guardian has fallen. Sixteen suspects. And before the sun rises, the Fellowship must discover who betrayed them.
I've designed this as a live, interactive mystery that unfolds throughout your actual Halloween itinerary, with Gimli and Legolas as the hosts. Every character has a secret, a personal objective, and information to reveal. The mystery will build at the house, continue through the ballet and Waverly Hills, and end with accusations at midnight before the final reveal at breakfast.
The story: The Death of the Ringkeeper
On the eve of Halloween, the One Ring was entrusted to a secret guardian known only as the Ringkeeper.
The Ringkeeper was charged with keeping the Ring hidden until the Fellowship could gather and determine its fate.
But last night, something terrible happened.
The Ringkeeper was found dead beneath the ancient trees of Middle-earth. The Ring had vanished, and beside the body lay three mysterious objects:
-
A single silver leaf.
-
A broken piece of black fabric.
-
A parchment bearing the words: "Even the purest heart can be corrupted."
Someone among the Fellowship murdered the Ringkeeper and stole the One Ring.
The Witch-king has been seen gathering strength. The Elves whisper of betrayal. The Wizards refuse to speak plainly. And even the most honorable members of the Fellowship may be hiding something.
Gimli and Legolas have summoned sixteen individuals to answer for their actions.
The Fellowship has until dawn to solve three mysteries:
-
Who murdered the Ringkeeper?
-
Who stole the One Ring, and where is it hidden?
-
Was the murder committed for power, revenge, love, or something far more dangerous?
